Finding In The Dark

October 18, 2011

Each of our mountains is designed (destiny) to take us to the places that we need to go for the lessons we need to learn. They will take us to places that are unknown to us. Places that we probably would rather not go. This point is well made by the following story.

Late one night a man was walking down a very dark and deserted street. Only one of the street’s lampposts was working. Under the lit lamppost he sees a man bent over as though he were looking for something. He approaches the man and asks if there is a problem and can he help. His help is welcomed in assisting the man find his keys. After a few minutes of searching with no results, he asks if this is indeed where the keys were dropped. He is told that they were actually dropped a few yards away from the lit lamppost. So he then asks “why weren’t you looking there? The reply is “because this is where the light is.” *

On our climb we must be willing to look in the dark. We must go to the unknown in order to learn, grow, and be better prepared to climb and complete our purpose.
